Dear colleagues,

Some of my qutip scripts are broken after upgraded to qutip5.

Do you maybe know how I can install qutip version 4 through pip install?

Thank you very much.

Byoungmoo.

Hello Byoungmoo,

To install an earlier version of QuTiP, such as version 4, using pip, you can specify the version number in the install command.

You can run the following command to install QuTiP version 4.x:

pip install qutip==4.6.2

This will install version 4.6.2, which is the last stable version in the 4.x series. You can substitute 4.6.2 with any specific version within the 4.x range if needed.

Let me know if you need further help!

Thank you so much for your tip.

I think I should rollback the version as of now.

Sincerely yours,
Byoung-moo

Dear Neill,

Thanks a lot for your comment. The origin of the troubles I am suffering now is that some floquet-related functions are removed or renamed in version 5.

For example 'floquet_markov_mesolve' is renamed with other one. I was using my customized version of floquet simulation based on qutip. In this deep level application, I have found that qutip v5 is not compatible with version 4.

Regards,
Byoung-moo

Dear  all,

Thanks for your answer last time.

Unfortunately, pip or conda installing the previous version of qutip returns this error (please see the attachment).

This only happens when I am installing the previous version of qutip. Pip or conda install are fine for other modules.

Would you please give me a further help for me?

Sincerely,
Byoung-moo
