I am using the latest version of qlab remote and I am finding when trying to change a cross point on an audio cue in the audio levels section, typing the number in the cross point wont stick. Also the sliders on the individal bus outputs are not green on remote app, but they are green on my mac. Only the master out slider is green.

Thanks
Gary

Hi Gary -

Thanks for writing.

I was able to reproduce the bug affecting editing crosspoints, and I've tracked down the place in the code where this broke.

I'm not sure though which aspect of the sliders you mean when you say they are "green" on your Mac. If you mean either the audio meters or possibly gangs, then neither of those features are supported yet in QLab Remote.

Thanks again for the heads-up on crosspoints, and we will get this fixed and release an update ASAP!

Thanks Brent

The sliders i am talking about are the cue outputs above the crosspoint levels. They are greyed out like they are not being controlled by the cue, but in reality, they are green and active on my mac, but greyed out on the remote app. I hope that makes sense, if not, I can take some screenshots tomorrow.

Thanks Gary -

I'm still a bit stumped, but that helps to see it.

Three quick questions:
  1. Which version of QLab are you connecting to?
  2. Does this only happen with cues assigned to the Dante Virtual Soundcard patch, or does it happen with other audio patches as well?
  3. If you dismiss the Inspector screen in QLab Remote and then reopen it, do the sliders appear correct the second time?
Thanks,
Brent

1. I am using the latest version of qlab 4 and also the latest qlab remote on my Ipad .
2. we only are using dante virtual soundcard but I can try another patch. That might be tomorrow though.
3. in IOS, if I hit the cue to look at the sliders and then hit done, then go back into, it remains the same. Almost like the slider is not update the “active” status if that’s how you say it.

Thanks!

Thanks Gary -

I'd like to also try to see the contents of the OSC reply that QLab is sending to QLab Remote when you open the Inspector for that cue.

When you are next back at the show computer, could you please do the following:
  1. In QLab, select Window > Workspace Status to open the status window.
  2. Select the "Logs" tab, and then check the box next to "OSC replies".
  3. In QLab Remote, open the Inspector for your "MOC Entrance" cue.
This should generate quite a bit of text in the status window in QLab.  Please copy and paste that text into an email, and send it to sup...@figure53.com.

Thanks!

A thought I had on this was that cue is heavily targeted by a lot of other cues. on a cue that is not targeted, the sliders show correct.

Just to update the group that we have found the underlying cause of this, and it will be fixed in the next QLab update (4.1.5).

The OSC response that QLab Remote uses to determine the slider handle colors in the audio cue inspector was incorrectly returning the *device* channel number, when it should instead be returning the cue output channel number. This bug would not be evident in cases where the audio device uses the default crosspoint routing, because the device and the cue output numbers would be the same. In Gary's case, the customized Device Routing for his Dante Virtual Soundcard is what made the bug show up, and that's what was causing the incorrect sliders in QLab Remote to appear gray.

Thanks Gary for your help tracking this down!

Thanks for the fix on editing the crosspoints. Works great now. Fyi, my sliders still show grey. Didn’t know if that was included in the last remote fix or if that is part of the qlab workspace that needs fixed.

Hi Gary -

The slider handle color issue in QLab Remote is happening on the QLab side, because of a bug in the way the patch routing data is currently being sent.

There's nothing you'll need to do differently with your workspace. The fix for that specific issue will arrive with the next QLab update, version 4.1.5.

Just following up for the group that yesterday's release of QLab 4.1.5 included this fix:

FIXED: A bug in the OSC "/patchList" command that caused QLab Remote to show the audio slider "live" status on the wrong audio channels if an audio patch used customized Device Routing.

That change should resolve the issue where sliders in QLab Remote were appearing with handles that were the wrong color:

Thanks!
