Hi,

I need to cross fade a series of texts (Title cues).
Please explain how I can do this.

:)

So, picking up on one of the 4 threads you have recently opened all asking basically the same question....

In my previous reply I showed how you would fade in, hold and fade out titles sequentially

In Q2 in the screenshot above Imagine the group cue for each line of text is a dancer on stage. The light fades up on the first dancer in 5secs, holds for 5secs and fades out in 5 secs.

That takes 15 secs. We then do the same thing 15 seconds after we started the fade up on the first dancer to illuminate the second dancer.

If we wanted to crossfade between dancer 1 and dancer 2, at the point the light began to fade on dancer 1, i.e 10 secs in, we would start fading up the light on dancer 2.

In Q2 of the screenshot above, if we change the pre waits on the group for each line from 15 secs to 10 secs this will achieve a crossfading  rather than a sequential display of the titles like this

Thanks Mic,

Your email about fading in and out titles helped me solve that problem -
but now the cross fade is what I'm trying to achieve.
I've followed your instructions and I'm not sure what's going wrong.
Attached is a screenshot of the workspace attached.
Can you articulate what it is I'm doing wrong?

So, the differences are.

My screenshot doesn't have any auto follows or auto continues, get rid of all the arrows on the right hand side by clicking on them until they go away.

My group bounding boxes are green with square corners. Yours aren't

Select each group cue and set the mode to start all children simultaneously.
