Hi,

I can’t find documentation on setting up reCaptcha, is there any document that indicates what I should set up?

I already have the API Keys to my website.

I put the public key in the PWM configuration editor -> Security-> reCAPTCHA Public Key

What should I put on the field PWM configuration editor -> Security-> Private reCAPTCHA key? The private key? But the field asks for a password and its confirmation?

Is it necessary to perform any further configuration?

In reCaptcha site 3 steps are mentioned:
-Obtaining PKI Keys

-Client Side: Displaying the reCAPTCHA widget (Required)

-Server Side: Verifying the solution (Required)

In which files should I do these settings?

Thanks in advance for your attention

Just add the private key in the private key field, thats all that's required.

Hi,

Thank you for your quick answer.

But where should i put the private key? In  PWM configuration editor -> Security-> Private reCAPTCHA key? But the field asks for a password and its confirmation.

When i do that an error occurs "Input error: Invalid referer " and it doesn´t show any picture, only the information "Please enter the verification code below. Entering this code helps to protect your account from abuse."

The private key goes in the private key field.  Not sure how else to say it.  Yes it's a password field.

Hi,

Thank you for your support.

The problem is solved. The URL was not configured in PWM configuration editor -> General.

Dear Simone,

Please make sure that  your DNS should resolve google and co. Are you working on Linux or some other platform ?

Dear Ramkee,

Dns are working fine. I can resolve all *.google.com sites and browse internet.

I’m on a Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.

I used this site instruction for the installation: http://www.serveradventures.com/the-adventures/installing-pwm-open-source-password-self-service-for-ldap

Regards,

Simone

Dear Simone,

Did you enter those public and private keys in to PWM security settings? have you found any differences after putting them ?
 You can check the PWM logs even. There is an option for logs, i hope you aware of that

Thanks

Dear Rankee,

Of course the keys were added and configuration saved.
I checked the xml config file to be 100% sure. I even restarted the server, just in case...

I found the log option but cannot find any reference for recaptha in the rows.

Any further idea for me ?

Dear Ramkee,

I still cannot get recaptcha to work :-(
I enabled debug log level, but nothing interesting is shown.
Only line "spaeking" about recaptha is:

Mon Nov 24 11:43:40 CET 2014, INFO , password.pwm.PwmApplication, loaded configuration:
...
captcha.recaptcha.publicKey=<removed for posting>
captcha.recaptcha.privateKey=**removed**
pwm.requireHTTPS=true
events.java.stdoutLevel=DEBUG
events.pwmDB.logLevel=DEBUG
events.fileAppender.level=DEBUG
...

I also checked the code at http://pwm.googlecode.com/svn-history/r149/trunk/pwm/servlet/src/password/pwm/servlet/CaptchaServlet.java and cannot understand why in my log there is neither one nor the other of the following two messages:

LOGGER.debug(pwmSession, "captcha passcode verified");

LOGGER.fatal("error " + e.getCause().getClass().getName() + " during recaptcha api validation: " + e.getMessage());

Can you help ? Any idea on how/what to investigate ?

Regards,

Simone

Ensure that the keys you are using are for the domain you are accessing in your browser.

So for example, if you're accessing the PWM site using the URL http://localhost/pwm/ but you registered the site in the recaptcha admin site (https://www.google.com/recaptcha/admin#site/) as the domain pwm.mysite.com then it isn't going to work - at least that's what was a problem for me once...

Hope this helps.
