I am seeing the same issue.  I had thought it was a problem with 2-step Authorization which I have enabled, but perhaps it is more related to the Google Apps for Business which I'm also using.  Here are the log messages I'm seeing:

[calGoogleCalendar] Modifying item Integration  (master item)

Interestingly, clicking on the link in the error console message displayes the following information:
{
 "error": {
  "errors": [
   {
    "domain": "usageLimits",
    "reason": "dailyLimitExceededUnreg",
    "message": "Daily Limit for Unauthenticated Use Exceeded. Continued use requires signup.",

  "code": 403,

 }
}

Thanks, Any ideas would be appreciated.

I'm seeing the same with the same kind of error messages.

In addition, as the day progresses the problem gets worse with TB failing to recognize the afflicted calendar (Stops finding a "writeable calendar" fro appointments).

 thx

Hi Philipp,

Wondering if you managed to take a look at these errors?

Thanks

I'm still having the same issue as well.  Can't dismiss any reminders that are in that calendar as well.  It's also getting annoying having to enter the master password for each calendar I have configured plus e-mail accounts it ends up being about 10 times.  The error information from the current issue seems like it should be sufficient to troubleshoot what is going on with this problem.
Thanks.

We are using Google Apps For Education, and seeing the same problem.  I deleted the calendars and re-added them, and it worked for a day.  Now I'm getting the yellow triangle, with the

[JavaScript Error: "[calGoogleCalendar] Modifying item *meeting name* failed:2147500037: {
 "error": {
  "errors": [
   {
    "domain": "global",
    "reason": "forbidden",
    "message": "Forbidden"
   }
  ],
  "code": 403,
  "message": "Forbidden"
 }
}
"]

Errors.  It seems to only be happening on events I am invited to - the ones I create are fine.

Thanks!

The issue seems to have been corrected since yesterday perhaps.  I no longer have the yellow triangle on my Apps for Business account calendar and am able to dismiss the event reminder that have cropped up as well as new ones that have popped.  It would be great to hear if this was a fix that was made to the provider or if something else was changed.
Thanks.

Just retried after I saw this promising news. Unfortunately I still  have the same problem described below.

Hi Philipp,

Wondering if you are working on this particular problem a few of us are having? It would be really helpful to know if you are... I may need to implement an alternate solution for my team... Which I don't really want to do.

Anyways, an update from you would be most appreciated.

Thanks

An update:

I managed to finally dismiss all of my reminders.

How?

I logged into the web calendar and edited those particular calendar items. I set "Yes" to I was coming/attending.
Then I restarted Thunderbird and resynchronised the Calendar

I was able to dismiss alerts.

Hope this helps!

OK, it was fixed for a week or so, for me anyhow, but then came back again.  I can no longer dismiss event reminders.  This started about a week into November.  Makes me wonder if there is something relating to quotas with this issue and the Apps for Business account that the calendar is attached to.

Please try to take a look at this issue and come up with a fix!  I'm sure you're probably cursing Google right  now for changing their APIs.  Unfortunately we have to live with them breaking things.

Hi

I have the exact same issue as stated in this thread.
Error: [calGoogleCalendar] Title of my calendar entry failed:2147500037: {

Hi David,
Have you tried my solution from Nov 7, earlier in this thread? This is what fixed everything for me. I'm able to use my calendar in full functionality.

Hi Kalpesh

Thanks for your reply.
I have too many event to manually process like you describe, is there no other solution available?
What can the root cause of the error 403 be? Syntax error when communicating with Google?

I am also having this this issue when I receive Outlook invitations. If I try to answer them using Lightning I get the 403 error. Invitations sent using Lightning work fine however.

Another 'me too'. I use several Google Calendars across two separate accounts (one gmail.com, one Google Apps for Business).  Seems to predominantly involve events to which i've been invited (as opposed to ones I create).

Clicking on 'Dismiss' causes the (!) triangle to come up against the calendar with 'temporarily unavailable' errors for the whole calandar, when trying to dismiss an alert.  The only work-around i've found has been to use the Google Web UI to remove the appointment in question.

During the transition from 0.3x to 1.x I actually stopped using this plugin entirely as it was flaky and unpredictable (except in its failures) and i'm heading back there again.  The timing is really exasperating for me

I get this as well. It seems to be caused by meeting requests originating from Outlook. I had some recurring meetings that threw up dozens of reminders which I couldn't clear (I got the Yellow Triangle and Forbidden error msg). In the end the only way to clear them was to get my customers to cancel their meeting requests and send them out again using Google calendar directly.

We are experiencing the same error on Windows base and Linux base systems.  I have switched to Evolution on the Linux based systems which works well with the calendars until this issue is worked out.

This describes my problem as well.  I don't have any "special" type of Google account, just a normal one.  But I can't dismiss the reminders.  Since most of my events are Outlook-originated invitations, this leaves me with over 200 reminders I cannot dismiss.

Regarding a prior poster's comment about going in and saying "Yes" to the invitations -- I already did that.  I have only one invite in my calendar that is neither accepted nor rejected, and all the reminders I'm getting are from accepted invitations.

Does anyone know if there is likely to be a fix for this problem? Its getting really frustrating - whenever someone sends me a meeting request from Outlook my whole calendar crashes. I'm happy to provide debug info to help find the problem. I'm using Google apps for business if that has any bearing on the problem.

The main error/info messages I see are:
  When trying to modify an event (eg accept it, or dismiss the reminder)
       [calGoogleCalendar] Login failed for email@address HTTP Status: 403 Reason: forbidden

and

[calGoogleCalendar] A request Error Occurred. Status Code: 400 Bad Request Body: {
 "error": {
  "errors": [
   {
    "domain": "global",
    "reason": "required",
    "message": "Missing time zone definition for start time."
   }
  ],
  "code": 400,
  "message": "Missing time zone definition for start time."
 }
}

There is nothing in the warning or the error logs.

I appreciate all the work that goes into this app, especially when google have been changing their apis. I'll happily donate again for it if we can get a fix.

Thanks

Sorry I haven't replied on this thread. The issues are being tracked in these bugs:

I'm new to the group for this very issue and adding my "me too."  I'm using an ordinary Google account (not Business) and getting the same "Forbidden" errror in my log under the same circumstances (trying to dismiss a reminder).

[JavaScript Error: "[calGoogleCalendar] Modifying item The Loft failed:2147500037: {
 "error": {
  "errors": [

    "domain": "global",

  "message": "Forbidden"
 }
}
"]

Philipp posted this link (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1112530) regarding the dismissing bug, but that particular bug has been closed as a dupe of 693587 (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=693587), which itself doesn't seem to be directly relevant to the issue (it's about adding alarms, not dismissing them).

I love Thunderbird and I love the Provider for Google Calendar, and I hope this issue can be resolved quickly.

Thanks!
-Brian
