Been struggling with 1.0 and 1.0.1 for the last few days. Got double entries first, but managed to fix that. After that it's been behaving odd but I've managed to temporarily fix it by removing and re-adding the calendars.

As of today, I can no longer re-add. At first I had a note on the calendar about that it couldn't sync. When I put in my Google calendar email address, in the next step where I'd normally have a list of the available calendars it is now just blank with nothing to choose. I have also removed the calendar that couldn't sync and tried the above steps again, but the list is still blank.

Yep, today the bird welcomed me with a Google popup asking for credentials, I knew there were trouble ahead :-) I authenticated, accepted the permissions request and the calendar does not work any more :-(

I removed it, tried to readd but the "Locate your calendar" window for Google option is blank.

You can still add the iCal ICS link to at least have the read-only mode...

I'm in the same position (TB 31.1.2 on Kubuntu). My calendar simply stopped working, and now when I add the list of calendars is empty.

This is somewhat frustrating!

Me to. Removed Google calendars that had stopped syncing, when trying to add them again the list of calendars is empty (after I enter my Google email address).

Same situation here today - no list of calendars in the subscribe box. Everything seemed to be working ok yesterday but for some people they now have nothing.

Same thing happen here.
Looking at the Error Console I have:
[JavaScript Error: "[calCachedCalendar] replay action failed: null, uri=googleapi://<omitted>, result={
 "
error": {
  "
errors": [
   {
    "
domain": "usageLimits",

    "

   }
  ],
  "
code": 403,
  "
message": "Variable Term Limit Exceeded"
 }
}
, op=[xpconnect wrapped calIOperation]"
]

(omitted bit was removed by me for privacy)

Which seems to indicate some usage limit on Google side. Not sure, but if the code is using the same developer ID to get the results is there a limit to that ID to get results from google?

Cheers,

Pedro

Calendar was not working and now i can not add it again: List is empty.

Additional Info: I have disabled Javascript and Cookies for Thunderbird (security reasons). Hope, 1.0.x will work under this conditions as well as 0.32 did.

Exactly the same sequence of events here, no solution. TB 31.1.2, Lightning 3.3.1, Provider 1.0.1. Error Console shows:

[JavaScript Error: "[calCachedCalendar] replay action failed: null, uri=googleapi://[edited out][at]gmail.com/?calendar=[editet out]%40gmail.com&tasks=%40default, result={
 "

]

Hope that helps.

Same thing here. I'm on
Windows 7 64bit,
Thunderbird 32.0,
Lightning 3.4b1
Provider for Google Calendar 1.01
Calendar Tweaks 6.1

In the past days when I started TB I could see a couple of google authentication popup windows. First times I just ignored them and closed. Later on, I filled in the details. Now I noticed that all my google calendars are flagged with the yellow triangle and are "temporarily unavailable".
I deleted one of those and tried to add it back again: for the first time I noticed that the Ui to add google calendars has changed. Now it asks me for an existing session with an already-known email address, and moves on to another step where a task list is supposed to show. But the list stays empty no matter what.

Same issue here too: impossible to sync first, then blank list of available calendars.  Tried to remove and reinstall Lightning and the Provider: nothing changed.  Note that when trying to add a new Google Calendar (on the "clean" install of Lightning + Provider) I am never asked for my Google password after giving my username: could there be a (serious!) problem in "talking" with Google?

Provider for GC 1.0.1, Lightning 3.3.1, Thunderbird 31.1.2, Ubuntu 14.04 64bit.

(For the fun part: I was just about to donate 10$ to Philipp Kewish when I realised about this bug.  Now, I guess I shall wait some more day before making that donation. ;-) )

Not asking for a password is probably because you already authenticated in the past.

You can remove the credentials by going to your settings: Edit => Preferences => Security => Passwords and clicking Saved Passwords. Find the ones that say Google Calendar, and remove them. Next time you try to add the calendar it will ask for your credentials again through the new popup interface. Hope that clears things up.

I'm thinking the error we're getting has to do with too many failed attempts or something, but I can't be sure without input from the developer. My current strategy is to wait another day and try again tomorrow.

re: fun fact: it's not Philipp's fault that Google decided to deprecate the old API in favour of a new one. The man is obviously working on it, and he will come up with a solution. So don't let that deter you from rewarding him for his excellent work so far.

Cheers!
Juan

Juan, right you are, so dumb of me not thinking about the saved password.  Actually, now I get the authentication popup.  (The list of available calendars remains empty nonetheless.)

Of course I am not planning to let this accident deter me from rewarding Philipp (and I am as well sure that he is working on it).  Yet, I still think that I shall wait for the problem to be solved.  :-)

Thanks for your reply and cheers,

Gino

While we're waiting for a solution I decided in the meantime to uninstall provider version 1.0.1 and re-install 0.32 and everything works fine as previous.

If you're going to do this just remember to uncheck 'Update Add-ons Automatically' under the tools for add-ons.

Jim.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that I unsubscribed all my calendars and then re-subscribed once version 0.32 was re-installed.

If you haven't already, try the above to see if it then let's you write to them again.

I've been having the same issues with 1.0.1...just gone back to version 0.32 and created new calendar, seems to be working again as before...

TB 32.1.2
Lightning 3.3.1

Looking forward to the bug fix as this a great add-on I rely on all the time.

Been having problems myself with1.0.1.

Thought I had solved it after un-installing all my google calendars and then re-installing them.  Worked for a day or so but now I have the yellow triangles again telling me that the calendars are not available.  Loathed to un-install and re-install again.

Later today I accepted TB update request. The issue stays apprarently the same, with this versions now:

Windows 7 64bit,
Thunderbird 33.0,
Lightning 3.5b1
Provider for Google Calendar 1.01
Calendar Tweaks 6.1

If developer needs a hand testing (or even coding, possibly) I can give it a try.

Not sure it really adds much, but I'm getting an empty "Locate your calendar" window too, with the following in the error log:

[calGoogleSessionManager] Reusing session exampl...@gmail.com
[calGoogleRequest] Requesting GET https://www.googleapis.com/tasks/v1/users/@me/lists
[calGoogleCalendar] Request GET https://www.googleapis.com/calendar/v3/users/me/calendarList responded with HTTP 403
[calGoogleCalendar] Login failed for exampl...@gmail.com HTTP Status: 403 Reason: variableTermLimitExceeded
[calGoogleCalendar] Request GET https://www.googleapis.com/tasks/v1/users/@me/lists responded with HTTP 200

I've tried deleting all the calendar logins in the password manager, but that's not helped.

I am with the same problem after fixing another one.
I noticed that in the Password Manager the password for the Google Calendar there is completely wrong. After deleting it, and inserting my login credentials again, same happened, but a different password was shown. Is this the same for all of you?

I guess this is the way it is supposed to be: it is not the password
that gets stored, but rather an authorisation token. Bye all, Gino

Amazingly I may have a work around for this.

I decided to clean up everything: went to google security and revoked the provider's permission to access my account; uninstalled the provider and removed all existing calendars; and cleaned Thunderbird's password settings for anything that said calendar or OAuth.  Then restarted Thunderbirdand re-added the provider (I had to download it from mozilla not use the add-on console in Thunderbird, that had a download error).  Then I went to add calendar, selected google, signed in, and the list was full of my calendars.

Works like a charm.
