Custom annotation processing with Intellij Idea

I gave up adding custom annotation module to lombok v1.6.x and rolled back to v1.4.8. Implemented handler for javac only and see it works in maven build. The annotation adds field name constants. Today's problem is to integrate that custom annotation into Intellij Idea. On rebuild it reports successful compilation, however the class members I added are highlighted with red and marked as error, auto-completion doesn't work.

Has anyone here used custom annotation within Intellij Idea?

intellij support works with a plugin that is developed separately, and has its own git repo. You'd have to clone that one.
