Hi all, I need some information on how to report the results of of a model using SmartPLS. Is there any specific format in reporting? If you could recommend any resource or sample would be great. Thanks.

Leyla,

Attached is a paper Geoff Hubona recommended when I asked him for an example of how to report SmartPLS results, a year or two ago. I hope it helps.

Hello!

Here is another good reference:

Chin, W. W. (2010). How to Write Up and Report PLS Analyses. In V. E. Vinzi, W. W. Chin, J. Henseler & H. Wang (Eds.), Handbook of Partial Least Squares: Concepts, Methods and Applications in Marketing and Related Fields (pp. 655-690). Berlin: Springer.

Hope it is useful!

Dear Leyla,

Here you are a contribution of mine that could be useful for you. We offer a practical guideline to report the results of a PLS model testing. Although we use SmartPLS, such guidelines can be applied to the output of any PLS software.

Roldán, J. L., & Sánchez-Franco, M. J. (2012). Variance-Based Structural Equation Modeling: Guidelines for Using Partial Least Squares in Information Systems Research. In M. Mora, O. Gelman, A. Dear Leyla,

I hope you are doing fine. Here is another example (I&M article) and a book chapter with some guidelines that you may find useful.

Best,

Ramon

I think that the article below provides a good example of reporting PLS-based SEM results; they used both SmartPLS and WarpPLS.

Hi Leyla

The upcoming textbook (which I co-authored) will give you all the info you need (method, explications, applications and SmartPLS examples):

Hair, J. F., Hult, G. T. M., Ringle, C. M., & Sarstedt, M. (2013). A Primer on Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Thousand Oaks: Sage.

Sage announced it for next April:

In the meantime, just log into www.smartpls.de and navigate to announcements à literature. Here is a list of articles using SmartPLS. Some of them also give you a good intro into the method and explain in detail how to report results; for example:

Hair, J.F./ Ringle, C.M./ Sarstedt, M.: PLS-SEM: Indeed a silver bullet, in: Journal or Marketing Theory and Practice (JMTP), Volume 19 (2011), Issue 2, pp. 139-151.

Hi Leyla

The new editorial of the 2nd Long Range Planning (LRP) Special Issue on PLS-SEM

Hi Mr. Ringle,

I am looking for peer review paper to support the suggestion that multicollinearity test is not appropriate for reflective measurement model. Thank you

Hey Matt,

I'm not sure if you really need paper that states that test for multicollinearity is useless in the case of reflective measured constructs. A test for multicollinearity tells you how much your explanatory variables covary in your regression equation.
If you consider a reflective measured construct, usually mode A is used in PLSc. So if you test your weights, they can't be affected by multicollinearity because mode A performs simple regressions (one independent variable is included). The factor loadings are obtained as the corrected correlation between the final composite and the indicator. So it also makes no sense to test if a factor loading is affected by multicollinearity.

Kind regards,
Florian
