Google ChromeCast plugin development

I am looking for someone with a ChromeCast that I can work with to develop a plugin for PhoneGap to cast content to the ChromeCast.

There is an API for Chrome (not sure it would work):

And there is an API for Android and iOS:

https://developers.google.com/cast/cast_2nd-screen_app_tutorial

For obvious reasons the SDK ain't near final yet, but it would be nice to develop a plugin that can be used in PhoneGap based webapps. I don't have a ChromeCast myself at this moment (out of stock and I live in The Netherlands), but I develop for Android.

If you are interested and actually can help out, please let me know.

At this moment I am a bit occupied. I expect to start developing it in december this year. I recieved a Chromecast dongle myself too now :).

Me too. I decided to wait until the official SDK is released. Then I will start to work on a plugin. Should not be to hard I guess.

Hey, just to let you know that i'm interested as well.

And if anyone is has a onboard-chromecast phonegap way, i'm interested.

To say it other way : youtube is not sending content from the phone, it's telling the chromecast to fetch video and then act as remote, i would like to do the same in a phonegap environnement.

Hi, my reciever is ready (for testing): http://droidpapers.teusink.org/cast.html?folder=chromecast&file=chromecast_003

But I have to wait for the SDK to be officially released. The required library is not yet up to date (did not checked it yesterday btw). Google says: "The Google Cast SDK for Android will be available in a few days as part of the Google Play services 4.2 update, which is currently rolling out to Android devices. The Google Cast SDK for iOS is available starting today.".

So, need to hang on tight :)

Wanted to check back and share a couple of links that might help.

• http://cordova.plugin.io has plugins already built for the appcompat and media router needed for android
• https://github.com/googlecast/CastCompanionLibrary-android looks like it might help out quiet a bit
• and finally https://github.com/AVGP seems to be working on the same thing https://github.com/AVGP/cordova-chromecast (and I think was the one who created the previously mentioned plugins)
