Editing/saving/opening graph column file (.gph)

Dear Bruce,

Hoping I can get some help with the following question.  I have saved the species scores for 185 species from and NMS ordination.  I only what to plot and label a subset of them (legacy trees only) from a ordination based on all 185 species.  I have managed to download the gph file and edited it in excel to only include the legacy tree scores.  

However, how do I save it in a format that PC-ORD will recognize and read correctly as a gph.  

Thanks for the suggestions/help in advance.

Michael, you can get there by different routes but the easiest is probably this:

In Graph Ordination menu, select File | Save scores as | Cols, then select spreadsheet.

In Excel delete rows (species) from this spreadsheet as desired.

PC-ORD, File | Import (as either main or 2nd matrix)

Tools | Matrix to gph

Close that matrix.

Then open that *.gph as the graph col file. (File | Open | Graph col)

Note that you might need to delete the corresponding columns from your main matrix, lest PC-ORD complain that your graph file doesn't match your main matrix.
