This is just to let you know that the latest version of OxCal has been released (v4.2.3) with new calibration curves: IntCal13, SHCal13, Marine13 and Bomb13. The program otherwise only has very minor changes.

The publications for the new calibration data are available with open access at:

https://journals.uair.arizona.edu/index.php/radiocarbon/issue/view/1024

Best wishes

Christopher

If you have already downloaded OxCal - you may wish to be aware that the IntCal13 file has been updated today - the latest version is in:

Web interface build number: 76
Last Updated: 23/9/2013

The only difference is that some of the radiocarbon values in the original were not rounded to the nearest integer. The new version is as it will be circulated more generally - so you may wish to update to this. It is unlikely that it will make any difference to calibrations.

Chris,

When I use the online version, I see that it is updated to #76 and updated on 23/9/13, but IntCal13 is not an option in the program. I can only choose IntCal09 and earlier versions.

I've refreshed several times but to no avail.  I'm sure I'm missing something simple.

I can only think that there must be cached pages in the web system.  The online version should look like the attached with IntCal13 showing as default on the left.  I would check your browser documentation to see how to delete the cache.  As you say, normally pressing the reload button a few times will do this - but it may be that it only reloads the main page not the left hand pane.

Thanks. Clearing the cache in Chrome tools did the trick.
