When in tunnels, gps often lose signal, and the position. When you exit of the tunnel OSMand caught the coordinates, but somehow does not realize that car is on the planned way and start to recalculate the rout. OK, if rout is short, but if it is long (2000km and more) it sometimes took long. Is there any default settings which I could set that after tunnel rout won`t be recalculated? Any other thoughts?

Which version do you use? The latest versions have "tunnel simulation".
I use nightly builds and I'm not sure whether the current release 1.7.5 on the play store has it.

Hi Harry - A bit off topic, but would you provide me with installing the nightly builds when osmand is already installed on the device? I tried to install it but it says the app is already installed and needs to be uninstalled first. I do not want to uninstall it, thinking it would remove my configuration and maps as well. What steps do you exactly use (1, 2, 3, etc.)? Thanks.

Probably you use the Osmand+ version. That version has the same signature as the nightly builds. That's the reason you can't install them next to each other. I can't either. When I want Osmand+ on my device I simply compile OsmAnd myself. This gives me the possibility to alter the signature.
But most of the times I simply uninstall OsmAnd+ and install the nightly. I only build it myself if something completely new and unstable is developed and I want to be sure that I do have a working version.
The latest nightly builds are quite stable.

No, I do not use osmand+ on this device. My version is what my screenshot shows at https://groups.google.com/forum/m/#!topic/osmand/DYDV4Q5FuEM . No one answered on what it is.

Did you download the "normal" nightly or the QT nightly? I think it is the QT nightly (I can't check now).

Tell us your version number.
The qt should be about #2630M
The "normal" nightly about #6358D

What's the difference between the qt nightly and the normal nightly builds?

Version was written in the middle of June, from play store, so probably 1.7.5.

The toolkit to render the screen. The QT will be the new standard also to enable to port OsmAnd to IOS (iphone).

Hi, I didn't find a newer thread but lately was travelling in the alps. And had this also after tunnel exits. The recalculation was somehow ok as I remember but. Osmand told me sometimes that I'm off about 16000 km. Quite funny when you are still on the route. Also how should that work within in minutes. Maybe some plausibility check would help to get a better behaviour here.

Why not cache the last state for some time together with the tunnel simulation.

Nevertheless I'm really happy to be guided by osmand :-).

Or perhaps estimate position based off accelerometer input like early in-car systems.  Should be good enough for the length of most tunnels.

Could this work as a temporary expedient?
When Osmand has calculated your very long route, place a waypoint ("First intermediate destination") on the calculated route line at a moderate distance, eg 10 miles, beyond the tunnel.  This assumes (I don't know) that OsmAnd would then fairly quickly re-calculate at least the next few km, to that waypoint, in time to be useful.

Hi, could be a solution. But I already do not really like to add each ~200km a point on a say 600km route. Also if you take a closer look at the tunnels in Austria and North Italy you would easily have 10 more points to add. Not really practical.
