I have an external Bluetooth GPS mouse, the Holux GPSlim236, that is really excellent, very sensitive, and quick....vs the built-in GPS in my Asus ME173x tablet that is very slow to lock.....other internal device GPS's are very slow too....

I would like to see Bluetooth GPS code support added to OsmAnd+, allowing me to link my Holux to OsmAnd+ loaded on my Asus, or my Samsung Galaxy S5.

I have used my Holux GPSlim on an airline flight, with the GPS mouse slipped up against my window, held by the sunshade, feeding GPS positioning to my laptop, which then fed that position to Microsoft Streets and Trips (an old copy from 2007 or so).....and could watch us in real-time, flying at 35000 ft, at about 550 mph, across the Streets and Trips landscape.

I'd like to be able to do this with OsmAnd+, but it does not seem to be able to accept GPS data from the external Bluetooth mouse.

Thanks for your (developmental) consideration,
Jeff

Did you try Bluetooth GPS app from Play Store? It works like a charm with my Holux M-1000c and OsmAnd.

Thanks Peter, yes, I have that installed, and it sees the Holux GPSlim just fine. Are you saying as long as that app sees it, OsmAnd will? That's what I expected, but my installation of Osm did not link to the Bluetooth GPS feed, even though I could switch over to Bluetooth GPS and see my position .....is there something else I did not configure?

Thanks,
Jeff

You have to enable mock provider in BluetoothGPS and fake positions (or something similar) in Android settings. OsmAnd will see Holux's position.

THANKS! I'll try that.  :)

Peter, thanks for the direction...."Enable Mock Provider" in Bluetooth GPS app is all that was necessary for OsmAnd+, nothing more in Android settings on Samsung Galaxy S5 in Android 4.4.4.

I must say, "mock provider" is not an intuitive label for that function in Bluetooth GPS, should probably be something like "GPS Pass-thru" or similar.

Thanks again,
Jeff
