"Compress G Code?" option incompatible with Smoothie switch reading?

When using the GCodeAsychDriver and the "Compress G Code?" option, I've run into an issue trying to read the value of the mosfets (configured as a "switch" module) on the Smoothieboard.

The only way I've found to read the mosfet value is to issue the command: "switch name"

In this example your configuration file would look like "switch.name.enabled  true" ...

The "Compress G Code?" option eats the space and instead sends: "switchname"

Uncheck the "Compress G Code?" option and everything works, I am able to issue the command and read the result so I am reasonable sure this is the issue.

I realize this is something of a contradiction, asking to compress the G code but leave this one space.  I was hoping that perhaps there was a way to force the space (like "\ " in LaTeK), interpret as a literal (like @"c:\temp" is C#), or similar method to make this work.  Or perhaps there's another way to read the Smoothieboard value?

Yes:

I guess space would be \u0020
