osx notification/growl (Mitteilungszentrale)

Hi

I can find support for Powl which is for ios client only but I would like to get my notifications on the notification center of OSX (im german: Mitteilungszentrale). How can this be achieved?

There is no action avaiable for that yet.

I am not familiar with how the notification center can be accessed. Is it only available for local applications (i.e. you would have to run openHAB itself on your Mac) or can you also remotely send entries to it as it is possible with Prowl?

There is Growl for OSX (not IOS) that integrates with the message center of OSX. But how could openhab send Growl messages? It seems that the Growl client must be configured by means of an "application" registered on the Growl homepage - that could be a feature for future releases of openhab. But in the meantime there might be a solution with the Prowl binding (it might share the same message protocol?! even thou it's for IOS only)?! Or have a look to integrate Apple Push messages - having this, that would be the same consistent way to send messages to all Apple products (OSX and IOS based).

Check out mqttwarn (https://github.com/jpmens/mqttwarn). It requires a little bit of extra config, i.e. setting up an MQTT broker, but using it you can send almost any kind of notification using the MQTT binding.
