Interest check: Thornkeep

I'm thinking of running the entirety of Thornkeep starting March. It'll likely be weekly, Thursdays at S&B.

For those of us playing Thornkeep. I've never played but I hear it can be very difficult. Should we plan our party? I'm happy to go Rogue or Ranger. It's level 1-2 should I start with a level 1 character or level 2?

In PFS play you can't start with a level 2 character, your character has to begin at level 1.

I recommend checking out https://paizo.com/products/btpy84k4 for a more detailed look at character creation rules for PFS play.

Beyond that, since this is a Core Campaign game, characetrs can only use amterial from the Core Rulebook.

Nope . Core campaign. EVERYTHING comes from the Core Rulebook, the PFS Season 10 guide, or the online list of traits. Or thiings one gets from chronicle sheets, GM stars, etc (I still get to use blend :-)).

So, no Magus. No archetypes. No etc

Hello! I thought I'd post here. I can't make this Tuesday as I'm out of town. Will I still receive a chronicle for my character? Will you be starting part 2? No need to move the conclusion for me though. That's fine, jeep the scenario moving of course. I'll be playing in a Thursday game if I still get a chronicle.

You still get a chronicle sheet but it is pro-rated (ie, you get less).

Hi guys, I'm currently leveling up my barbarian from 1-2, (I think Henrico and I talked about it, saying that the character should be level 2 by now....) I think I may need a wee bit of help in some areas. Can one of you guys give it a look over to see if I missed anything? Much appreciated :) Cheers.

I can look but a barbarian is dead simple :-)

M/W weapon (I presume you don't have enough for a +1 yet)

Power Attack

Best medium armor you can afford

javelins

couple of scrolls of magic weapon for an ally to cast on you

Rage Power - Intimidating glare is fun if you've built for it, Strength Surge is a favourite as is superstition (note, superstition has problems with in combat healing)

Note - Intimidating barbarians can be effective and fun but its feat consuming. Not sure if you're human but the extra feat helps. Intimidating Prowress is all but essential

Also note that, if this is the first time you're actually playing at level 2, you can change EVERYTHING right now EXCEPT for consumables that have been consumed (a wand with even 1 charge lost counts as consumed)

I just wanted to say that it was an absolute blast running this module for you. There were quite a few sticky situations but you managed to get through the whole thing with just one death. Your quick thinking and cooperation got you out of situations that could've ended much worse. I'll be looking forward to the next module.
