Dear Friends,

There is batch execution concept in OMNET++ but i am little confused about its usage. I want to run my simulation over multiple times. Lets say i want to run my simulation 50 times for 100sec with one variable constantly change during each simulation. Then is it possible in Windows environment. Will I be able to have results for each simulation? How it is possible?

Thank you so much for your time.

I do not know how to implement in the WINDOWS environment exactly. However, I can give you a suggestion in Linux platform. And I suppose you can also implement in the WINDOWS through Cgywin.

My way to accomplish is using SHELL in linux. You can indicate the variable as the input parameter, And runs the OMNET in the command line in Terminal. You can write an SHELL code and get variable every time, and then run the simulation under the specific value.

Best Wishes,

Peng

Hi Athar,

In windows environment, there are two ways to solve your problem.
1. Using Cgywin, providing a Linux-similared environment in Windows,, you can write the SHELL like in the linux platform.
2. Using mingwenv.cmd in the installed direction which provides a linux-similared and function-limited platform, you can also write SHELL in this place.

Then you can change using CHMOD command and then run it.

Best wishes,

I have selected mingw option as it is very easy for me. I put [Config Run0] and [Config Run1] in omnetpp.ini file. But i am unable to run both the simulation continuously. Is there any command to run the simulation continuously in mingw?

I also tried the above procedure with repeat=2 code in omnetpp.ini but was unable to run the simulation twice.

Please help and guide.

I was able to run the tictoc example multiple times using mingwenv.cmd  option by making a text file and giving it execution mode. This was possible because the omnetpp.ini and tictoc.exe was in same folder as my run text file.
But the project which i want to run have multiple examples having multiple omnetpp.ini files. And the application is in another folder than omnetpp.ini file. Now please suggest me that where should i keep this run.txt file having multiple runs commands and how to run this project as two files are in separate location.
Whether the vector and scalar records from these multiple run will be save separately?

Thank you so much for your time.
