Hi everyone,
4Gsim (4G Simulator for OMNEST/OMNeT++ 4.2) as found at this link: https://github.com/4gsim/4Gsim
seems to be the only implementation of 4G network in OMNET.

the only question about it in this group can be found in:
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/omnetpp/htcLdF1lMAk
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!msg/omnetpp/GfqiP5e7OaI/S3HWvNpBJL8J

Did anyone try to install and use the simulator?

I tried the following (on windows):

trial-1: import 4Gsim and build the complete project >> result is error, more than 200 errors, even inet examples does't work

trial-2:
imported inet into a separate project (used latest inet version, repo: git:inet-master)
installed inet, checked inet examples >> works perfectly
imported 4Gsim project, build complete project >> result error, few errors, examples within 4Gsim dont work

It seems there is some settings or hierarchy that need to be maintained (only guessing!)

I appreciate it if anyone could point out how the correct installation process is.

another question, how is it possible to use 4G modules in an existing project? which files should be used? where should they be copied to and what is the hierarchy?

I would sure post my findings in the group for the community.

regards,
Ahmad.

4GSim simulates only the control pane of the network.

Usr plane is simulated by SimuLTE: https://github.com/inet-framework/simulte

Thank you for your reply. I am aware of each simulator features.

I want to install 4Gsim correctly and have it functioning properly!!

Or at least be able to know which files and what modifications are required to have 4Gsim in an existing project.

never got it to work and I don't advise investing time in it unless you are skilled with OMNeT and have abundant time...

I'm not sure about the sate, but Alfonso (the maintainer of INETMANET) has merged the 4Gsim rpject into inetmanet, so at least it is possible to compile/build it.
