Hi,
I'm new to both mobile networking concepts and NS3, so I apologize if this is really obvious.  In a real system, the timing advance is sent in the RAR, but I didn't see this in NS3.  My understanding is that in NS3 a UE will be "synchronized" with the eNB so can directly transmit data to the eNB without adjusting for the timing of reception of the data at the eNB, is this correct?

Thanks,
Natasha

Hi,

yes, it is correct. No synchronization is necessary thanks to the "ideal" synchronization of ns-3.

Thanks for answering my question.  Could you please elaborate a little bit more about NS-3's ideal synchronization? If you don't want the ideal synchronization, could you just change when you schedule the reception of the data at the eNodeB?

Please read the manual:
https://www.nsnam.org/docs/manual/html/events.html

About the second question, the answer is no (again, read the manual).

Thanks,

T.
