Hello all,i am trying to understand how a job queue backed by redis works.I have seen many many implementations of a job queue in node.js for instance kue, pq and others.

The problem is how i am going to actually use it.I have read quite some docs on the producer-consumer pattern but i still lag behind in understanding how this fits in into my project to be of help.

This is my explanation how it could be of use,i need some corrections here.

A job is added and is placed in a queue.A worker process which runs as a service or a daemon polls the queue to check for undone jobs and once there are new jobs, the worker processes them according to their priority.

The end.

I forgot to add that i managed to get an example of a job queue running.I used redis with kue. You can see the files here https://bitbucket.org/networkindividual/nodejs-basic-kue-project
