Phase 1 Week 7 (The Outward Disciplines) SIMPLICITY

Dear class we return from our trip with 12 of our ministers from Israel today. Powerful experience. I will share picture in the future.

Comment on the statement:

1. Simplicity is freedom. Duplicity is bondage. Simplicity brings joy and balance. Duplicity brings anxiety and fear.

2. Simplicity knows contentment in both abasement and abounding (Phil. 4:12). Simplicity is the only thing that sufficiently reorients our lives so that possessions can be genuinely enjoyed without destroying us.

3. Do you agree or disagree with any of Richard Foster’s ten controlling principles for the outward expression of simplicity.

I look forward to reading your post, don't forget to read and reply to the post of a fellow student and

Truly, an outward expression of simplicity and humility is important in our daily walk with Christ

Welcome back! I do agree with this post from Richard Foster because the word says in James that any man a friend of the world is a enemy unto God. Duplicity; U have to have everything, and or the latest. Sooner or later you will find yourself worshiping that object which is a sin, and is apart of the world, which means you become God's enemy. Simplicity equal humbleness which is one of the fruit of the spirit and if you have one most likely you gain the rest, with work and time.

Hello J. Cameron
I also agree with the description of simplicity by the author.  I did receive a new outlook when you explained duplicity as a double life. I previously viewed from a stand point of indecisive, complicating things to a point of never being able to make a distinction from black and white, everything left in a grey area. So I am blessed that I had an opportunity to see this in another light as well.
