Hi

Recently unpacked my IN-18 Blue Dream Nixie Clock with the belly to assemble it (after 6 years) and noticed a few components are missing. Dieter nicely told me they were way past that project..

Most of what is missing I think I can source (column (colun) tubes, buzzer, leds)  but I need information on part:

TR-1 Nixie Transformer, type Nixtra-18.

In googling Nixie Transformers, none of the results look like the gold square with the red dot. Is this similar to the photo on page 2 of the instructions.

What can I use without much modification?

Am I looking for something that functions like NCH6100HV ??
At least I got all the nixies!

  Any help is appreciated!
  Thanks
  Tim

I think that only Dieter can answer that.

I agree with Paul.
Also, you will probably be able to do with a power supply module like the NCH6100HV and not populating the parts that correspond to the HV power supply in the kit.

Wow Yan!

That is incredibly generous of you! Are you serious!?
That is exactly it!
I would love to try it with the original because I am not too experimental but I promise that wouldn't prevent me from buying the NCH6300HV as well!.

I have been looking at some of your clock designs. Wonderful!!

I will reach out to you directly.

Thanks everyone.

Hi Tim, I'm happy the transformer plays to its value, better than lying in my bookcase, it's free for you ;)
Yan.

Can anyone recommend a direct replacement for the buzzer or the value of one i need in the right size for the Blue Dream?
I miss being able to go into a radio shack and select one of a cheap electric part and not have to pay shipping!

I think soon thanks to you all we will be building soon!

Thanks in advance.

Tim, we now have eBay and AliExpress where we can select even cheaper parts and not have to pay shipping...
Did Radio Shack ever offer you 100 resistors for $0.99?
But yes, I miss the physical stores too!
And most of all that means: I need a part, go to the store, and continue with what I'm working on.
Nowadays it's like: okay, I'll order this now so let's continue with this project 4 weeks from now (hopefully).
I'm happy to pay a multiple if it means I can just continue with what I'm working on. But the few local stores that are still left here never have what I'm looking for.
So it's usually like "we can order it if you wish"
Errrr, no thanks. I think I can do that myself...

Ha yes. Exactly. I could source parts proportional to my enthusiasm.
And if you joined the Battery Club you would get a couple free batteries every few visits!

When the local Radio Shack store closed, I bought most of their carded stock at pennies on the dollar so now I have my own Radio Shack.  I do still have the "What I'm looking for isn't here" problem sometimes, however.
