It is not clear anywhere in the readme for the filevault escrow module where I find the recovery key and I feel like I have looked everywhere. I've seen some screenshots of a Filevault Escrow button/tab but don't see that in my Munkireport instance. I do see the Encryption Status under the Security Listing.

And I do have the filevault_escrow module in my config.php under modules.

Thanks,
Marc

Marc,

Click on a Mac to view its details. Then click on “Show” next to the Mac’s name and you should see “Filevault Escrow” in the list of links. If you don’t see it, what version of Munkireport are you running?

Hi Marnin,

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply and provide the screenshot. I am running the latest version and do have the list of links and found the FileVault Escrow record with the Recovery Key in it J. Unfortunately not that obvious that the Show is a pulldown menu.

While I think MunkiReport is a great tool from the limited time I’ve had with it, there are just too many places to go for info and very little is documented for the “end” user (I did countless google searches yesterday to try and find either videos, images or a user manual). I will likely need to draft up some setup and end-user documentation for our internal use – if I genericize it enough would this be of benefit to others and should it be then posted in the github repository for MunkiReport?

I agree, the Show pulldown isn’t obvious. I’m not a big fan of the current layout. To work around the Show button, create a custom.js file in the root of the munkireport-php folder and add the "Add buttons to title bar” code as shown here:

Anything you can contribute that is valuable to you will almost certainly be valuable to others.

Thanks again. I'll have a look at customizing the interface once we have a better idea of what we need to keep track of.

I'm open for suggestions to improve the UI. The reason I created the 'show' dropdown is that it works better on a mobile device, but there may be better solutions
