I have two mojolicous sites at work. One is rock solid and never has a problem. The other site keeps getting "mysql server has gone away". The connection code for both was the same, though wrong, so I re-wrote the problem site to use what is recommended here: https://github.com/kraih/mojo/wiki/Hypnotoad-prefork-web-server#database-connection-problem-in-preforking. I even started using DBIx::Connector, but each morning, I get the same error message about mysql. What else can I try? Or is there something else I need to look at?

Same software, different hardware. Memtest86 comes to mind. But maybe
your log files have indications of hardware problems in them already?

Is one a target for vandals and the other isn't?

Both sites are virtual machines running on ESX hosts. They are also corporate internal development environments, so it's extremely unlikely that that something naughty is going on.
