Hello!

I need help! I have 500+ flash cards for my degree on mnemosyne and desperately need them! I just finished doing my round of flashcards for today and then closed it and went to add some more flash cards from my lecture... it won't open... it keeps saying it closed unexpectedly and says "ok" or "reopen". I've tried both ok and reopen and it won't open up again!!! I've also tried ejecting mnemosyne because it comes up like a disk... I even restarted my laptop and it still doesn't work :(

please help me!!! :( :( :( :(

Hi,

What os and version is this? In any case, I suggest to uninstall and then install the latest version.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi! I have a MacBook Pro and it's the 2.4.1 version...

If I uninstall and install again will I lose all my original flash cards?

Thanks!

Hi,

Normally, uninstalling won't delete you cards, but if you want to be safe, you should always backup the directory which contains 'default.db' (which is guess is ~/Library/Mnemosyne on mac).

Cheers,

Peter

Hi,

Since I don’t have a Mac, I put our Devin, our Mac packager in CC. Perhaps he has an idea.

Cheers,

Peter

Hi Alisha

I don't have any ideas based on what you've posted here. You could copy-paste the full text from the error box and send it to me directly at de...@callysto.com and I could take a look, but I doubt I'll be able to figure it out.

One question I'd ask is; what changed? Did your operating system do any updates? DId you update Mnemosyne? Or is it just that you closed + opened Mnemosyne? It's possible your database is causing the error. You could copy the  /Users/Alisha/Library/Mnemosyne to a backup location and then delete it (voiding your warranty haha) and re-open Mnemosyne. If Mnemosyne is able to open with a fresh database, then it must be a problem with your database. If it's still giving problems, then it's a problem with your computer. In the second case, you could try opening Mnemosyne on a different machine and see if it helps.

Feel free to email back and I'm sorry I'm not much more help
