Hello

How am I supposed to set:

<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/icon/32x32.png" type="image/x-icon" />

in the <head> tag with Meteor?

Doesnt work if I put it anywhere else.

I dont want create favicon.ico in /public unless I really have to.

Ideas?

in your html, just make a tag

<head>
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="/images/icon/32x32.png" type="image/x-icon" />
</head>

and it will include it as part of the head

PNG favicons not supported everywhere so try to use ICO.

Browsers tend to cache favicons hard.
So if you've made any changes to it, try adding favicon version like so, '<link rel="icon" sizes="32x32" href="/favicon.ico?v=2">' between your <head> tags, this will force the browser to use the updated favicon.

Don't see the issue with having it in /public?

I hear you [cuz]. The real issue was not being able to add stuff to <head> but that's sorted now.

I'll keep an .ico in /public (for pre IE11) and use <link> with PNGs (for alpha & less/no pixelation) in markup.

Best of both worlds?

Could be solution but ico does support alpha...

The whole point of ico is that it's a container so you can store multiple sizes (ie. 16x16, 32x32 for retina therefore no pixelation).

Doesn't seem necessary to have both when ico will do the trick.
