QTP11/UFT11.5  is not compatible with IE11.
Downgrade IE to 10 and reinstall QTP

Hi Guys,
We are sharing UFT on virtual machine, windows 7,  UFT with IE11.

When logged as one windows administrator, UFT identifies objects, but the moment I log in as my user, which is also admin, UFT is having problems.

Do you think its an IE settings or UFT settings?

Thanks Davesh.
We have uft11.
I can downgrade IE, thats not a problem, my question is why objects are recognized by using one administrator user and not the other. I checked online and it said that I have to run QTP as an administrator which I did but it's still not recognizing with that particular user.

Any other suggestions

Thanks
George

Hi George.. Well, earlier by mistake I had replied to Akhalesh query. Now, coming to your point, pls have a look at the link - http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Unified-Functional-Testing/QTP-11-can-not-recognize-IE-run-as-another-user/td-p/5583489. The below paragraph (taken from mentioned link) seems to be the reason of your problem:

"

Actually, this is expected. This situation has been considered to be a product limitation and it is documented in article below:

  • Can QTP test applications using “RunAs” command?

QTP is an invasive application, which means that it will try to inject DLLs (hooking process) into the processes that we want to automate in order to have features like Record, Replay or Spy working on certain technologies like Web. The Operating System doesn’t allow a process (like QTP) from one user profile to affect processes from another user profile and that’s why QTP is not able to inject its DLLs properly.

So is it better to downgrade the browser?

If so, what IE version os better for UFT, IE 10 or 9.?
