Hi there;

I saved my scene and, somehow, some geometries have dissapeared in the air.
When opening the scene, maya throws the following error for the offending meshes: warning: the OpenSubdiv Catmull-Clark subdivision method cannot be applied to non-manifold geometry.

I know the geometries weren't manifold (as far I can tell).
Is there any option for recover those geometries?, if I grab all the connections to the mesh everything is there, the only problem is that the geometry doesn't show up nor render at all or export.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I had that error message when loading from a previous version but luckily my geo was safe.

Have you tried changing the Subdivision Method in Preferences->Settings->Modeling before loading your scene?

I thought it was as easy as toggle off the surface smoothness, so it becomes standard polygons..., but it doesn't work at all.

You may be able to dig into the ascii and copy out the text above the error or comment it out
  Or copy paste just the poly creation text and run that directly in Maya to recreate it
