Hi there. I know there is a video where a car disassembly with MASH. I have a problem on ordering the offset moving.I wish to use offset node.
I have a lot of groups. Selecting the groups and MASH them. I've selected by priority, so i want for instance that the tyre offsetting as first, second the rim and etc.
Anyone have a Hint?
And also. There i sa known issue on ram consuption by MASH and Instancer? It is huge.

Thanks

Please use the search feature here, I had to do something similar and had lots of great support from everyone here.

Ok. I followed the entire assembly car thread. The last question didn't have answer. Ian saw to use the falloff or map. I do a try but with no luck and also. I have a cad model inside maya the scale is far from origin, not at all in maya i am in cm the model measure are cm. So well. I think maybe that there is a problem with falloff that is far from origin? I few world it seem not to work well.

Thanks

Well, I can't imagine any reason why the object should be placed in other place but in the zero world coordinates.
Usually you have the object there, and then you move it where you want it.
My process was:
  • Have all the pieces grouped in the order I wanted them to appear or move
  • Do an instance MASH with that (yes, instances are not fast in these versions)
  • Apply time offsets and delays with falloffs
  • Apply a transform node in order to place the vehicle wherever you want it
  • Done!
