Change Map Color To a 'night mode black'

I see some rumblings about changing the background color of the map - 

I want to do this for a night mode

suggestions?

There is a background color setting in the header of the rendertheme file.

Hi,

I remember seeing a mapsforge render theme at Orux forum
having night mode, based on Tobias Elevate theme.

I think it was named Simply Hike, you can check it also.
Between normal / night modes it was changing various sections.

What about the background load color?

I have changed the renderthem map-background="#000000" but how do I change the load color?

You mean the map view background color before tiles are drawn?

You can change it with:

mapView.getModel().displayModel.setBackgroundColor
