cfdbinfo and PostgreSQL schemas

If I do cfdbinfo against a PostgreSQL database - for instance, to get a list of tables, or detect if a table exists - it will return results for all schemas within that database (even if the db user doesn't have permissions on the other schemas).

Is there a way to restrict this to simply look in the current (or explicitly defined) schema?

I have an issue where a second instance of an app will not initialise the tables it needs, because cfdbinfo is telling it that the tables already exist - but they are in a different schema.

I would think that this is under the responsibility of the driver.  Which driver are you using?
