Hello:
I don’t think you will find any joy in the apps for that device; at least, that is the case with the X18 and the XR18 ETC. As far is using the device from the physical controls, I cannot comment since the X18 has no controls but must be operated from an app or an X-touch controller.
The Behringer app itself is an iPad app and not an iPhone app. There is some development on an iPhone app by another developer but, my communication with the developer is quite sparatic.
It’s a great rig though.
Cheers.

The ipad app is mostly accessible. It’s kind of confusing if you don’t understand how the board itself works.
But I have the x32 producer, and love it!
GF
The x32 isn’t what you want to look for. People always get that mixed up. That board is like 3 grand or so. The one that most studio folks will want is the X32 producer. Same guts, just smaller frame, and about half the IO that you would get with the full sized X32.
As far as using it as a blind person. It’s totally useable. The only thing you will have to do is memorize menus. Most of us do that anyway with other gear, so you should be okay if you don’t have a problem with menus. There are apps being developed for windows and mac from what I hear, and they should help us out even more…
Derek Lane over on the reaper group has one, and he got me in to it. I won’t turn back.
I had a Yamaha 01V for 15 years, and this is the first mixer that I have purchased since 2001. I have had it for a few months now, and it’s the best thing I could have done for my rig. I can use it live with my PA, or here in the studio with my computer. Very flexible, and most everything on it can be accessed from the front panel. Even if a fader motor goes out on you, you can still control everything with the knobs that are under the screen. They control everything depending on what part of the mixer you are trying to control. They change to reflect what mode you are in.
I would recommend this board to anyone who has a home studio and about $1500 or so to invest in a good, quality, well-built mixer.

Subject: Behringer X32, any experience?
Apologies for the somewhat off-topic nature of this question. I currently use a newer Yamaha analogue desk which has some basic DSP functionality which constantly freezes and renders the desk extremely unreliable. I'm tempted by the flexibility of the X32 both as a live and studio desk but wonder about its accessibility. Does anyone use one and if so could you share your experience? Are the iOS and Mac control apps accessible? Any limitations? Many thanks for any and all input.

GF.
I'm interested. A friend of mine, not blind, has the big one, not the producer one. One thing I found unpleasant with it, is that the pan pots were controlled by one of these endless knobs. That wouldn't be a problem if there was a way to put them back to centre but there was not, at least nothing nonvisual. Did this change with the producer version?
Are you using its mic preamps, how good are they?
Best,

No. Unfortunatly when you change the pan, there is no way to snap back to center. There is, however a way on the XTouch. I don’t know why they don’t implement something like that on the x32Producer, they could very well assign one of the soft knobs to handle that. Maybe they will in an update or something? We shall see I guess.

And the mic preamps are awesome. That’s one reason I got this board.

I don’t think that mac can do anything, but the iPad app gives access to routing, fx, and setting up things like the eight assignable buttons. Im sure you can do other things with the iPad app as well, but I haven’t really dove in to that.
I also don’t think Patrick has the x32 producer.

You press the knob and it snaps back to center.
