Hi all! I'm trying to use LKB with two kinects to make a interactive wall. I had no problems with connections or calibration, but when i see the results on the "2 Kinect blob viewer", the image is inverted. When i interact on the left side, the blob appears on the right side. The same thing with the vertical axis. How can i fix this? Cheers!!

Hi Rita! This might be due to the hookup of the kinects in the usb ports (the first device is not the one you wanted to be the leftmost for example) and the vertical axis is probably due to the orientation of the sensors with respect to the wall. I think there will be no problem when the point calibration is done before you send TUIO data (in the tuio extractor button) as this calibration maps the points in blob space to screen points (so it wont matter if the blobs are upside down). Try using some 4 points or more points per side so you have a good calibration with 2 cams.

Good luck!

Hi! Thanks for the help. Ive already tried with some tuio client simulator and it works fine! But i need your opinion regarding the use of this software for a big surface. I did some experiences and in some areas of the screen the point appears really far from my hand. Do you think that that is a matter of calibration and i can get a good precision or since is a really large area i will never have a good finger tracking? If its possible can you give me some tips on the calibration or on kinects position? My screen is about 3x2 meters.

Thanks!

Hi Rita, it is not an easy task to get finger resolution for that area even with two kinects. Try using a lot of calibration points (for example 6-8 instead of 4). Also, i think you probably have this working but just to make sure, check that both cameras are working with finger resolution for the representation of blobs in camera 2d settings (in other words that the calibration you have for each camera allows you to see blobs the size of fingers). Are you using background or plane method? It is probably better for this situation to use background.
Good luck!
cheers!
