Unchangeable Time

Hi, Everybody

I am using KOBO toolbox to create forms. My need is to restrict the time, so a user can not edit it. Updated/Present Time should attach automatically where ever i need in the form. So is it possible ?

Hope you had been answered. However if not open the form and under the node for the time add the following function readonly= "True"

Hi,

I have used in xml-code:

          <start/>

          <end/>

 

This saves automatically the date and time in hidden mode.

Thankyou Aloo Stephen. I have tried like you said, in the question of "Date and Time". But its not working? i cant see the time in the aggregate.

Thankyou so much Hellmuth Saddey. Can you please explain a bit more ? because i have tried in the hand code of question "Date and time". but it gives me loads of error.

You will need to create a time and date question. Dont rely on the automatically generated one. Its this time and date question that you create that you should ammend. It will still be visible but only readonly

Hi Nauman,

The simplest solution within KoBoForm is:

Add a new question, select type as "time" (or "date and time" if it useful)

In the advance properties for that question, uncheck the "enable" option (but keep 'required' and "visible" checked) 

Now the question is included in your survey, wherever and as many time as you like and it will record the time when that question was reached. 

!!! if you uncheck the 'visible' option, then the time is not recorded !!! (will see if that is on purpose or if it is a bug)

!!! the time and date and time question types only record the hour and minute, not seconds!!! (here too, will see why with the programmer, and make changes as appropriate in the future)

If you need more details on time, or if the above does not work, then you will have to edit your xml manually as suggested.
