Marshmallow accesses the extsdcard in a different way. Does anyone know when KeePassDroid will be updated for compatibility with Marshmallow? Thanks.

Thats probalbly not what was ment.
When there is an external SD card pluged into a phone, the permissions to read/write to it have changed in Android 6. When people for example sync there Keepass files to this external SD card, Keepassdroid can't write to them. It must be adopted to the new rights management of Android 6.
Is there a time line for that ?

Best regards
Markus

I was using it on my Nexus 5X without issues until today (well, today was the first day I noticed a problem).

Now, my .kdb file is not selectable from the KeePassDroid file picker anymore (whether in Google Drive or in Downloads), and the android share menu doesn't show me KeePassDroid as an option.   As recently as a week ago or so I could just tap on the kdb file in the Drive app and then KeePassDroid would automatically launch and ask for my password.

Anyone have any idea what changed?   Very frustrating to lose the ability to use this app.

Having the same issues here from my LG G4. Just started today, or within the past few days and I hadn't noticed.

Just an update here, I was able to solve this problem finally.   After a lot of frustration I finally cleared all the app data for Google Drive.    After I logged back in to Drive and resynced, everything was working fine again.   I think the Google Drive Android app update on Feb 1 corrupted my local cache or something.

How do you "clear all the app data for Google Drive"?

Go to Android  Settings > Apps (some devices say Applications) > Google Drive.

Once you are there go to the storage section and click 'clear data'.

Note that this means you will have to redownload any things you had set to 'keep offline' (but you won't lose any data, it's still saved in Google's datacenters).

I have a new Samsung s7, I can open my db file, but it seems to be locked.
The file is saved on internal storage, I can read all entries but cannot create new or delete.

Is this possibly a android permission issue as well?

Same issue. Note4 with official update. Keepass forgets KDB location (It has to be manually select it every time I Open the app) and cannot write to it. It is infuriating.

Have any Marshmallow 6.0 users tried the Google way of giving apps permission to the SD Card since Kitkat?
ie, moving their .KDB database file over to a /Android/data/com.android.keepass/ directory on their SD Card? For example, on Samsung: /storage/extSdCard/Android/data/com.android.keepass/mykeepassdatabase.kdb
Does it work?

I've found things working better under marshmallow than under lollipop. I store my db on Google Drive and on my Nexus 5x (Android 6.0.1 with July 5, 2016 security update) it works great and lets me edit it too. That also allows it to sync up with my laptop.

On the android device, I mark the file as available offline and then I put Drive widget shortcut to the kdbx file on my home screen. When I want to access it, I just click the shortcut and I have kdbx associated to open keepassDroid by default. It then lets me put in the pw and select the keyfile and it works. Edits I save store back to my Google Drive in the background. If I don't have connectivity at the time they update whenever I've got data connection again.

I tried, editing is possible (only) under this path on CM13.

But I need to select it from my file manager, the file not selectable from the android open dialog.
