I was using K9 for years on my older HTC EVO with no issues.  I now have a Galaxy S5 and new mail notifications (tone, vibrate, and LED) just stop working.  When I reboot the phone they will work great, perhaps for a day or two, then they stop again.  New mails arrive fine, I just no longer get notified.  Anyone had this issue?

K9 notifications worked fine on my GNEX but the S5 they have not worked at all.  I guess a slightly worse case than you as reboot solves your problem temporarily and does nothing for me.

On reading this I realised that notifications have stopped for me too (also using an S5)

My problem turned out to be that the new mail ringtone setting was set to none. Possibly it had lost the custom file I downloaded.

I spoke too soon. Audible notifications have stopped working after a day or two. The vibrate option and LED flash are still working.
