Files too big to send are stuck in outbox.  I could delete them but need to save the attachments.  I deleted the attached contents off of my sd card on phone, but the attachment is with the email in the outbox.  Is there any folder in either Android version 4.4.2 or within K9 mail for me to retrieve the attachent that is with the email in the outbox?  Thank You for your help.

You could try the following --
Go in and change:
Settings -> Account Settings -> Storage -> Storage location: External storage (SD card)

When you make the change, there will be a delay while files for the account are moved.

Outside of K-9 Mail, browse your external storage to Android/data/com.fsck.com.k9/files.  In that folder will be a ".db" file (the sqlite database for the account you moved) and a ".db_att" folder which contains all the attachments for the messages in the account.  I'd suggest making a copy of all the files in that folder and leave the original folder contents untouched.  I'd then go back into K-9 Mail and change the storage location back to internal storage.

The attachment(s) you are looking for should be among those that you copied from the ".db_att" folder.  None of the files have their original names or file extensions; you will have to make an educated guess as to which files are the ones you want and then rename them with the proper file extension so programs can open them.  (If you were familiar with sqlite, you could examine the database and figure out which files you needed without the guesswork.)

Thank you for your response.  I tried your solution above to the "T".  When i change the storage to external SD storage, there does not seem to be a delay while the files are moved.  There is approx. 5 gig worth of large files stuck in the out box.  Most of the files are 358MB files.  I look at the external storage in the directory you suggest above.  There are two ".db" files and two ".db_att" folders in the files folder.  When i open the 1st "db_at" folder there is one file in it labeled 12 which is a 779 byte file.  After  i convert this file to a MP4, i try to view it and i get an error "Unable to play video"  Sorry, this video cannot be plaid.  The other folder is empty.

I am pretty sure that this file is not any of the attachments for they are all much larger.  Now i have two out boxes in this account with no files trying to be sent. I have rebooted the phone (arrow up, home, power on)  and still have 2 out boxes with both being empty.  They seem to have disappeared.  I believe K9 froze in the middle of transferring the files over.  Screen turned black, it went to force stop, but i told it to wait.

I thank you for you response above and if the program did not freeze, it probably would have worked just fine.
