I have a Nexus 4 running Android version 5.01. When I installed K-9 mail all folders sync'd up and mail worked perfectly.

I added a new folder to Gmail via my computer and after several days the folder still has not shown in K-9. The folder does show in my other mobile devices when using Gmail.

Thoughts?

Thanks

Did you try 'refresh folder list' option?

That was it, I didn't know the 'refresh folder list'  existed until you made me look around. I was going to the folder view and hitting the refresh button thinking that what it was for.

thanks you so much.

You are welcome.

PS. It's a closely guarded secret, that by looking around you can solve many issues.
PS2. I'm probably guilty of it more times than you, anyhow, so don't worry.

Go into the folders option, show all, do a manual refresh.

Sorry to press this one more time, but I can't find anywhere in any of the folders or folders list that says "refresh Folders." And I've been looking for weeks. All of my folders (which were once synced to my server) disappeared about two weeks ago and I can't get them back. I understand the idea of going to the list and clicking "show all" and then "refresh folders," but I can't seem to run across anything on my folder list (or the buttons below it) that says "refresh folders" or anything similar to that. I'm stymied, and I thought I was pretty good at rooting around in this program to get things done. This one has me beaten.

Assuming IMAP (POP doesn't have folders), on the main account
display/list select the folder icon on the right end of the line.
That should bring up a list of the mailboxes (e.g., Drafts, Outbox,
Inbox, etc.) that K-9 knows about. Then, select the menu option --
three vertical dots -- from the menu bar. An option, second from the
bottom, is "refresh folder list".

You can also get to that option menu by selecting the account (so
you get your message list). Then select the menu option. The second
to last item is "folders". Select that, and you'll be at the list of
folders, as above. Then select the menu option again for the
"refresh" option.
