I've been impressed by the ipython-based presentations at JuliaCon.

What's the most streamlined way to do this from JuliaBox?

I guess the ideal would be if there was a 'run as slideshow' option directly in iJulia.

Would installing the IPython slideshow extension be sufficient?

Sounds perfect.

Is that something site-wide, or per user? I gave a quick try to installing on my local session, but hit issues with missing nbextensions.

May-be it needs to be site-wide?
Local changes could be getting overwritten when JuliaBox reconstructs ipython configuration on each login.

The extension needs to be able to read configuration files from a common location (e.g. /usr/local, /usr/share).
Reading docs (at https://github.com/damianavila/RISE) seem to indicate it is possible.
It would need changes to the JuliaBox install scripts.

FWIW, Doug Bates showed me RISE today and I installed it and quite like it.

Have there been any further thoughts on this being built into the juliabox installer?

If not, perhaps a simple guide on how to add it might be helpful, in particular for students.. RISE makes presenting quick work very straightforward!

I just noticed the commit including RISE for juliaDockerImages.. sorry, missed that.

It doesn't seem like these latest commits have been compiled into the new docker images yet.
I'd do that myself, but I've not got my head around building and tagging an updated docker image yet..

The juliaboxpkgdist image was either not built or has failed building on dockerhub.
I am triggering it again now.

Builds on dockerhub are failing with the below error.

Build failed: The command '/bin/sh -c mkdir mpfr && cd mpfr && wget http://www.mpfr.org/mpfr-current/mpfr-3.1.3.tar.bz2 && tar -xvf mpfr-3.1.3.tar.bz2 && cd mpfr-3.1.3 && ./configure --with-gmp=/usr/local --disable-static --enable-shared && make && make install && cd ../.. && rm -rf mpfr' returned a non-zero code: 8

I suspect it is the same issue we had faced earlier where www.mpfr.org was not accessible from certain networks.
I recommend building it locally.

It seems the domain is reachable, but the specific file is not.

Is upgrading to 3.1.5 an option?

The site does seem down now.
