I am looking for plugins with following features. I did some research but could not find anything providing me these features. If you think these would be some of the good features that we would like to have, I can take the initiative to get it going in case there are none. I tried to contact some of the plugin owners, but it is hard to get response or they are reluctant or do not have time to open the doors to contribute in their project.

-> Plugin to trigger with email
-> This should provide easy manual email configuration
-> This should provide auto mail server detection
-> It should provide a test feature to check if the program is able to read the email settings
-> Plugin to capture difference between code and create one task for code review
-> It should automatically assign the defect to the available pool of developers from jenkins user directory. It will become a small bugzilla inside jenkins
-> Plugin to backup configuration of Jenkins
-> Easy to configure cron. A GUI feature to select schedules
-> Easy to configure and select which folders and configuration file extension to backup
-> Should provide backup and restore facility
-> Should provide visiblity when it is running
-> Should have the option to cancel the job
-> Reload Jenkins configuration after the restore
-> Remove backups older then the specified nr of days
-> REST api to trigger plugin
-> Feature to reload jenkins configuration after restore
-> Should go through access control
-> SCM support for storage
-> CVS, SVN, GIT, TFS
-> Plugin to show console in popup iframe mode

I would appreciate your feedback before I jump into it.

Hi,

you should rather post to jenkinsci-users, this ML is reserved for discussions about Jenkins development itself.

And before you post please have a look at https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/Plugins. After reading that you can ask more specific questions about some plugins.

I was looking forward to more technical discussion(along side general discussion) and so decided to post here. One of my intension was to bring these topic here to the decveloper community and if the owner of different plugins read this and come to a common discussion asking why we need these and why not improve/add features to an existing plugin, it would be easier to accomplish them. Most of the time the plugin owners are not reachable(atleast for the plugins I selected) or they do not have time to resolve open issues or changing the entire code architecture.

For example, mail commander, backup plugin, thinbackup, periodicbackup etc

Just curious if I can see doony in the link you pointed me to? If you say no, then I think that was the purpose for me to post in this forum and the owner of doony replied pointing me to that plugin.

FYI, before posting here, I did an extension search in the plugins page.

Thanks

It's in the nature of an open, extensible project like Jenkins that there cannot be a complete reference of all variants and extensions of various kinds.

Thats the reason to post the question and get the information.  No one can guess the word doony and do google search.

Thanks
