Hello Team,

I am working on procedure to find a means to migrate java application onto IOS iPad device.
Currently its running on montavista version of linux. This java application communicates with other implantable devices using RF technology.

I am looking out for a means through which current java application can be ported/migrated onto IOS with minimum code changes to existing application. This java application in new proposal communicates via bluetooth technology with external devices.

UI of this java application is designed using AWT, Swings & EMF.

Is it possible using J2ObjC to achieve this???

Regards
Sai

J2ObjC doesn't support AWT or Swing, and AFAIK, there are no ports of either framework to iOS. The non-UI parts of EMF might translate, but since it has lots of Eclipse dependencies, that would be a big job even before having to rewrite the UI natively.

Have you considered porting to an Android tablet instead? It also won't support AWT or Swing, but your non-UI code, including EMF, should be transferable without significant change.

Thank you Tom.

Is there any another alternative approach of handling AWT on IOS side.

I am currently  looking  at robovm.
