nice to see some working on an alternative to Intersystems' Studio. For Java development I also use Netbeans and I like it a lot.

a very nice feature would be tooltip showing the docs á la javadoc in Netbeans. This is something that Intersystems just forgot to put into Studio I guess. One could ask himself: why write documentation if Studio can't display it. The answer of course is: maybe they (or someone else) can in the future and the browser could also help.
I am in favour of a netbeans solution. Keep up the good work.

For what OS do you want to install IDE ?
You can use nbstudio.zip for Windows and Linux, just extract and run bin/nbstudio

Or appropriate install file for windows and linux.
What other problems with IDE?

First it would be nice to home some brief instructions.
I have Windows7 - 64 bit.
 
Now, I don't want to seem stupid, but maybe too late for that,
but I can find a "bin" directory or sub-directory
I found several "nbstudio" files but none seem to be an executable.
Now, I am not a Java programmer, could that be the problem?
 
If you put this out for public consumption, you it need some instructions for people like me.
Great idea, and I am sure it takes much work, but it needs a bit more.

Hi Dmitry,

I downloaded your nbstudio. I am using Windows7, so I run nbstudio64.exe. But I could not add a new connexion. After entering every things needed (server name, address, username.pwd, ...), when I click on "OK", there is the text in red: "Error connect to server". I have Java 7 update 45 on my PC. My version of Caché is 2009.1.6.921.4. At the installation I have chosen the security level "normal" and "unicode". What can be wrong with my installation. I tried also nbstudio.exe (without 64) but the problem is the same.

My server side is on AIX and was installed with normal security settings. _SYSTEM is enabled but the password is obviously not SYS. Is this product limitation? You must have SYS password for _SYSTEM user?

Thanks! Fix worked but Ensemble Code doesn't compile. It's also extremely slow in loading.

We have seen demos at the summit and they are at a pretty advanced stage at the moment.
