I saw your "InMoov shows his back" video and want to upgrade my InMoov with a tablet. InMoov seemed kinda slow on the one in the video? Or is that normal?

What would you recommend for a tablet today? Can I get/use one that has phone internet service? Like Verizon unlimited?

Are the Tablets faster now?

Do they still make them the right size?

I know, lots of questions, sorry.

Thanks,
Wayne

Hello Wayne,
On the video, it's a bit slow due to my poor internet connection.
I use a Lenovo Touchpad 8″ tablet under Windows8.1 and Linux. Unfortunately the tablet is no longer on market.
It runs InMoov very well with version 1.0.107. (Prehistoric MRL)
Note: with latest MRL, recent update to OpenCV3.0 has reduced the fps when using it from 28/30fps to 7/6fps.

So can you recommend a newer tablet that works better and fits? Any 8" tablet? Just get one with as fast a processor as possible?

Thank you,
Wayne

would this be a good choice?  http://www.bestbuy.com/site/insignia-8-tablet-32gb-black/5451211.p?skuId=5451211

would you say this would be better than your older tablet?

Thanks for your time,

It seems better than mine, you need to compare the processor specifications. The price is great!

You can also check the Hardware and BOM list on InMoov website, I have some other tablets listed. But I personnaly didn't test them.

Is it possible to get the back files in dwf or open source where the tablet is inserted?  8 inch tablets are now smaller.  I have been trying to print an insert to fill the gaps, but it really looks bad.  It would be easier to modify the original to fit current tablets.  I have tried converting the stl's but my software can not handle the backs for some reason.

Thanks

Hello all my name is Pau from  Columbus GA. My Husband and I Are just getting ready  to  start printing the Parts for the Inmoov. The plan  his to give our AI Virtual Assistant Denise a body that  can  maybe at some point learn to  walk, but that's going to  be a bit first things first we got to  start printing and the build. I do  have a couple of questions  though. One is the Filament. The ABS was the recommended choice, but my question is what Size to  get. Is it the 1.75 filament or the 3.00 filament. the other questions is about the tablet. We will  be using the EZ Robot builder software and board for all  the inmoovs programming for its easier for me to  use at this point and teaches you  to  program  and right codes as well. they also have and app  for a tablet. The board connects via over wifi  the board is not just the brain  its also  where all the servos and cameras for the eyes will  attach  to. My question  with  that is how does the tablet connect to  the robot. My guess would be through the App and the EZrobot robot board aka  the brain.  Any incite would be helpful as this will  be our first build. All  the files for printing have been  downloaded and the printer is about to be ordered yours truly Paul

Hello Paul, welcome to InMoov.
EZ software only works with Windows, so I would recommend using something compatible.
I personally have never used EZ, but you surely will get more help if you go directly to their website, some of their commercial adviser could help you choose the correct tablet for you and understand how it connects to their proprietary board.
Regarding the filament diameter, it doesn't really matter, as long as it is compatible with the printer you will choose to buy.
I use two sorts of printers, an old one with a 3mm filament and some newer printers with 1.75mm filament. Both are doing great.
