A small plant seen in Fremont, with a tiny yellow flower having four petals.
Probably from Rosaceae family.
Picture taken on 8th Oct,15.
Not sure whether cultivated or growing wild.

Kindly read the date of picture taken on as 8th Oct,2014 and not 2015. 
Duchesnea indica?

Please look at Potentilla and its hybrids.

Possibly the hybrid Potentilla x mixta Nolte ex Rchb.  (P. anglica × P. reptans) which has sterile seeds but spreads easily by runners so may be found away from the parent plants.

If it is the hybrid P. × suberecta Zimmeter  it can be found near the parent plants  P. erecta and P. anglica.

Saroj ji
P. rimicola is a cliff plant with hanging branches, inflorescence is 5-20 flowered and flower with five petals
This P. anglica has distinctly single flowers, 4 sepals and petals, the only species of genus in California with 4 petals.
