Hallo!

Bug in igv 2.6?

"igv.bat -p 60151" - ok

"igv.bat -p 60152" - error

on Windows Server 2012 R2

HI,

Could you include the actual error message you see?  I think I'm able to reproduce this but I don't have access to Windows Server so it's not clear whether or not this is the same error.

FWIW, in my case using either of those commands fails (60151 or 60152).

One more thing: could you check if there are any conflicts on the requested port when this error happens?  I suspect there are not but it's worth checking.

Are you able to successfully set the port in the UI instead of using "-p" at the command-line?  It's in View -> Preferences -> Advanced.  That seems to work for me, but again, your error could be different.  I guess it's a possible workaround, though "-p" ought to work.

In your other message, you mentioned editing the igv.bat launcher file.  If you're willing to do that, you can get more detailed info by changing the "javaw" to "java" and removing the "start" before "%JAVA_CMD%".

For what it's worth, I consistently get a JVM crash on start up in this scenario on Windows 7.

Default port 60151 used by enather user. Port 60152 is free. Yes, I can set port 60252 with IGV GUI. But remote control not working. May be problem in our server settings. Thanks a lot.

Problem solved fo me. I jast run launch script as Administrator. Romote control work fine (if port number in html link = port in IGV :)).
