Generating and processing quotes within idempiere

I have been looking at the different processes within idempiere to see if it is a viable option for CRM for the business I work for.

 

I have found the following link that instructs on generating quotes and processing for adempiere:

However I am finding it difficult to find the instructions to achieve the same outcome on idempiere ie Generating a quote within idempiere to send to a customer.

iDempiere as a fork of ADempiere mantains the same processes mostly. You can try the same steps portrayed and report back if you find anything amiss.

I have logged back into idempiere to try the instructions given for adempiere once more to achieve this function of creating quotes.

 

I have tried to enter the word 'quotation' and 'proposal' into the search bar of idempiere as this is what it is referred to in adempiere instructions but no results are found for these words so I am still unsure about how we successfully can replicate this function within idempiere.

 

Any more suggestions for help will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Julia, welcome to iDempiere, the guide you mention says:

" Customer orders and quotations are entered through the Sales Order window"

Quotation and Proposal are types of Sales Orders.

According to the link you provided i quote:

Thus it has to be searched via the menu names above i.e. Sales Orders. As advised, those terms are part of the eight target DocTypes.

we create a separate window on top of same table c_order, and make validation based on document base types.

purpose: users more understand by differentiating order processing and quote processing.

So users able to find in menu %quot%
