Hello,

I would need some help installing ATOM 2.0.1 on a MacOS 10.7.5 machine.

I did everything described here:

brew install php54 --with-mysql --with-fpm
brew install nginx
brew install elasticsearch
brew install mysql55

brew install ffmpeg
brew install imagemagick

Now I am having a problem with nginx and PHP, I don't think it is working properly because when I browse to my server, I get a "file missing error" and phpmyadmin doesn't work either.

If I post my nginx.conf file, can someone help me out?

Thanks for the reply.

Andrew

Hi Andrew,

Nginx and PHP will require configuration to run properly, see:

Note that you do not need to install nginx and php again using the command line (apt-get) commands shown, as you've done this already with homebrew, the configuration files are the only thing you should need from those pages.  Also note that the path to files in MacOSX can be quite different from the Ubuntu paths used in the example configuration files.

If you have further configuration issues with nginx, we recommend you ask for help via an nginx support forum or IRC channel, as these options will likely have a larger community and you are more likely to receive help more quickly.

Best regards,
David

Hi Daejin,

Sorry, your email was caught up in Google's spam filter for some reason! Are you still having difficulties?

Mac computers are built on unix, so you should be able to follow the general Linux installation instructions; simply use the Mac-specific instructions to install the dependencies.

Note that AtoM is not intended to run on a home computer or laptop! If you are trying to install locally for testing it should be fine - but you might need software such as XAMPP or MAMP to create a local server environment. I found an old post for troubleshooting installation on a Mac with MAMP here: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/ica-atom-users/WratUilSRBA/s5GW0LddOEUJ

If you are also installing just for testing, have you checked out our Vagrant box? https://www.accesstomemory.org/docs/2.0/admin-manual/installation/vagrant/#installation-vagrant

Hope that helps,
