Measurement of MRI ADC Values

Hi. Has anyone experiece of measuring ADC values on MRI Studies

You can use IB Diffusion to derive ADC values from MR DWI acquisitions. It is available as a plugin for OsiriX-based viewers like Horos:

Hi Todd,

I am just wondering if this means that the Horos plugin: https://horosproject.org/horos-content/plugins/horos/ADCMap/html/ is no longer functional/supported? I have installed the plugin, and it appears in the plugin manager, but not the menu. Appreciate any guidance you have.

I just tried installing it myself with Horos v4.0.1 on macOS Sonoma v14.1.2 (Apple Silicon). When Horos launches, it is unable to load the plugin:

******* Bundle code loading failed for plugin /Users/todd/Library/Application Support/Horos/Plugins/ADCMap.horosplugin

It is a very old build using the original Universal support so it does not support Apple Silicon:

Library/Application Support/Horos/Plugins/ADCMap.horosplugin/Contents/MacOS/ADCMap: Mach-O universal binary with 2 architectures: [i386:Mach-O bundle i386] [x86_64:Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64]
Library/Application Support/Horos/Plugins/ADCMap.horosplugin/Contents/MacOS/ADCMap (for architecture i386): Mach-O bundle i386
Library/Application Support/Horos/Plugins/ADCMap.horosplugin/Contents/MacOS/ADCMap (for architecture x86_64): Mach-O 64-bit bundle x86_64

I believe it probably needs to be re-built to support and signed to support Intel and Apple Silicon platforms. That would probably also involve modifying some of the code to handle any deprecated macOS features.

Again, IB Diffusion from Imaging Biometrics is available and is much more robust for creating ADC maps (disclaimer: I was a developer for that).
