I've been tasked with having our EHR software make RPC calls to VistA. The first goal is to retrieve a simple list of current patients.

I've looked through a ton of documentation and web sites, but I can't find how to get the files to install the BDK (broker development kit). This should contain the BAPI32.dll that I need.
I plan to use the Medsphere OpenVistA C# code as a starting point.

Where do I find the BDK?

I believe that if you are going to use Medsphere’s broker calls, you’ll need Medsphere.OpenVista.Remoting.dll and Medsphere.OpenVista.Shared.dll, probably not bapi32.dll unless I’m misunderstanding your direction.

Oh. I thought that MedSphere was just a C# wrapper to BAPI32.dll.

You might want to look at RPCBroker.js instead:

Hello,
I'm looking forward to use .net framework to make a client side, Would I know what the steps you go through to use C# and connect with the M server?

Check out MDO: https://github.com/monkeyglasses/mdo

It's a C# project with all the code you need for connecting to the RPC Broker, invoking RPCs, parsing results, etc. etc.

I so appreciate the documentation, like vistapedia, that the community has provided.  It sure makes coming up to speed easier than having to figure it out for oneself!

Yes, indeed, I couldn't agree more, and what's even more so is the lack of arsehats amongst the Hardhats. It just feels like the BBS days again.

Which... Isn't necessarily a bad thing.
