TX Turnigy 9X Problem

I use the remote control Turnigy 9x no problem with this remote. I have my remote problem battrei lipo installed incorrectly, causing a short circuit to my remote causing transistor burning and pathways in the pcb. do i have to replace the total for pcbnya or can be fixed?? Please give suggestions on. where i can buy a Turnigy 9x tx pcb his

The MB is the original one or the gruvinV4?

In the original MB a polarity reversal normally causes a condenser and the 70L05 stabilizer to break, normally it's just sufficient to replace it, sometimes also the stabilizer inside the module and near the switch.

Maybe Brian will answer about availability of the gruvin MB, that is a much more powerful replacement for the original one.

To me, it seems very not likely that your motherboard could be repaired. You said circuit tracks were burned. That alone is a very bad sign. There is also a good chance that the transmitter module (in the back of the radio) is damaged.

I am not sure about your economic situation. Where I live, a brand new Turnigy 9X radio is considered so cheap (NZ$80 including shipping) that no one in their right mind would consider repairing one, especially if so badly damaged. Maybe this is not the case for you? Perhaps we can still help.

The group of people you have stumbled on here, have purchased the Turnigy 9X remote control radio like yourself, but then removed the control board and replaced it with an upgraded one, named "gruvin9x". In theory, most of us should still have the original factory board laying about, probably unwanted.

Unfortunately, I destroyed my two original Turnigy 9X boards and also my two transmitter modules, for the process of taking measurements and to make the gruvin9x replacement board etc. Otherwise, I might have offered to send you a replacements.

Alas, there are no gruvin9x boards available for sale at this time and besides, they actually cost the same or more than the complete original radio, sorry to say.

Perhaps someone else on this mail list may be kind enough to mail you one of their original, no longer wanted Turnigy 9X controller boards?

NOTE: I have assumed that you are referring to the original Turnigy 9X controller board and not the gruvin9x upgrade board, because I do not remember your name as someone who purchased one of the small number of gruvin9x boards we produced. Yes -- the replacement board will make the main logic board work again and fix the burned tracks etc. However, the transmitter module in the back may also be damaged. The only way to find out is to try it.

I have spoke to my Indonesion friend and he has helped me to understand the e-mail chain.

 

I have the stock controller board. This will fix the burnt componets and chips on your board. It would be an easy repair.

 

Bryan reports your RF module (Radio Frequency Module) may be damaged too. There are many JR compatable module available.

 

I would be happy to give the board to you.

 

Unfortunately shipping to Jakarta from my home is about $45USD. I would need payment prior to shipping.

 

Thinngs to consider:

 

The '9X transmitter is at the end of its market-life and is being replaced.

 

The standard '9X controller board running the original firmware does not work very well. The software will max out the processor and run very slowly. Open 9X works better.

 

Let me know what you want to do.
